Wardrobe Cost in Noida: Sliding, Openable and Walk-In

Updated 18 August 2026 · D Woods Villa Interior

Openable wardrobes cost around ₹1,350 per square foot of shutter face, sliding around ₹1,650, and a walk-in starts near ₹1.5 lakh. In small bedrooms the decision is not aesthetic. Openable shutters need 600 mm of swing clearance, and in a 10 by 11 foot room that is the difference between a walkway and an obstacle.

Pricing by type

TypeRateTypical 7ft x 8ft wardrobe
Openable, laminate₹1,350 per sq ft₹75,600
Openable, acrylic₹1,600 per sq ft₹89,600
Sliding, laminate₹1,650 per sq ft₹92,400
Sliding, mirror or glass₹1,950 per sq ft₹1,09,200
Walk-in₹1,50,000 upwardDepends on room
Shutter replacement only₹750 per sq ft₹42,000

Rates are on shutter face area, which is height multiplied by width. A 7 foot tall, 8 foot wide wardrobe is 56 square feet.

Openable or sliding

The honest way to decide is with a tape measure rather than a preference.

Openable gives full access to the interior, costs less, and allows deeper shelving because nothing is lost to the track. It needs 600 mm of clear floor in front of the shutter. In a bedroom where the bed sits within 600 mm of the wardrobe, openable shutters will hit the bed.

Sliding needs no clearance at all, which is why it belongs in compact rooms. The cost is that you only ever see half the wardrobe at once, and the track consumes about 100 mm of internal depth. Track quality is also the single point of failure: a cheap track derails or drags within a few years and is difficult to replace once loaded.

What goes inside matters more

Most homeowners spend their attention on shutter finish and almost none on internals, which is backwards. You look at the outside; you use the inside.

Full height, always

A wardrobe that stops at 7 feet in a 10 foot room creates a dust ledge and wastes three feet of storage. Running it to the ceiling costs about 15 percent more, adds roughly 30 percent more storage, and removes the cleaning problem entirely. In our experience this is the single decision homeowners most often regret not making.

Walk-in wardrobes

A walk-in needs a minimum of 2.1 metres of width to work: 600 mm hanging depth on each side plus 900 mm of walking space. Below that it is a corridor with clothes in it.

In most NCR 3BHK layouts, a walk-in means converting part of the master bedroom or absorbing an attached dressing area. It is a genuine luxury and it costs ₹1.5 lakh upward. Where the room cannot take one, a full-height wardrobe with proper internals delivers most of the benefit at half the price.

Material specification

Wardrobe carcasses can use IS:303 BWR grade plywood; BWP is unnecessary here and a waste of money in a dry bedroom. Shutters can be laminate, acrylic, veneer, mirror or glass. Hinges and channels should be branded and rated, exactly as in a kitchen, because a wardrobe drawer opens nearly as often.

Ask for the grade as an IS number and the hardware brand without an "or equivalent" clause attached. Those two lines protect most of what matters.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wardrobe cost in Noida?

Openable wardrobes run about 1,350 rupees per square foot of shutter face, sliding about 1,650, and mirror or glass sliding about 1,950. A typical 7 by 8 foot wardrobe costs 75,000 to 1.1 lakh.

Should I choose sliding or openable wardrobes?

Measure first. Openable shutters need 600 mm of clear floor in front. If your bed sits closer than that, sliding is the only workable option despite costing more.

Should a wardrobe go all the way to the ceiling?

Yes. Stopping at 7 feet creates a dust ledge and wastes storage. Full height costs about 15 percent more, adds roughly 30 percent more storage and removes the cleaning problem entirely.

What size room can take a walk-in wardrobe?

A walk-in needs at least 2.1 metres of width, being 600 mm hanging depth on each side plus 900 mm of walking space. Below that it is a corridor with clothes in it.

What plywood grade should a wardrobe use?

IS:303 BWR grade is sufficient for a dry bedroom. BWP grade is unnecessary here and a waste of money. Hardware should still be branded and rated, as wardrobe drawers open nearly as often as kitchen ones.
